past work...
The last 5 years has mostly been the story of Electric Vehicles and Humanoid robots, but the lead up is hilarious. Hope you enjoy... I know i have.
Will update eventually with some photo/video content and more detail, maybe?
2011
Allegedly Sold The Devils Lettuce (Allegedly)
2012
Started a company to sell Kendamas. I made 1600$ and shut it down as the businesses soul purpose was to fund buying an apple computer (was my dream, steve jobs was my hero)
2013-2017
I threw about 1 party a week (West Seattle, White Center, Burien was an interesting place to be a kid). This taught me an extensive amount about people, how space and sound influences them and how to put on a great event.
2018
Wherenext: This is a colombian production company. I shot a movie with them and ran a facebook ad campaign for adidas that I landed through them (they made the content, I pushed it).
Squared Social: Me and couple of friends that were growing instagram pages to sell ads decided to make an official agency to offer social account growth as service.
Social Vogue: I created an E-comm site where I payed attention to social trends, found the products going viral (ie fidget spinner) and would source and sell them. Best month we did 40K revenue with embarrisingly large margins. Ran this thing into the ground over time with bad customer care, getting railed by tax's and never hiring... I was 19...
2019
YOUGOOD Party: My friend was a recording artist signed to Epic records and we threw a massive party after one of his shows at a legendary venue created by the CEO of Acccessvia. Really fun and well produced.
Song Credits: I am on a song with Juicy-J called 7/11 doing ad libs.. I couldn't help but add this in here. Mostly so I don't forget. Also was fun-- I don't belong on songs.
MProduct: I wanted to know what a product manager was when I was in college and when no one knew-- I accidentally made a cult for people who wanted to be product managers with a couple friends who were in the same boat
StockX: Made digital products and videos at StockX lots of fun.
2020
TedX: Wrote TED talks with Jason Mars, Desmond Howard, Greg Harden. Directed a TED Event and sold out 2K tickets. We were 300 sales short week of event so I went door to door… That was just one small memory of the magic we pulled off for that show. So fun.
Tesla Energy: Solved nationwide energy inefficiency problem on the commercial solar fleet.
The Youzh: Once covid hit I moved a team of engineer into a tent outside of Mt Ranier National park (on what eventually became the HQ of Sleeper Family Farms) to make an app. We literally built a civilization! No running water but we had solar energy and Wifi setup— had to hadjj for water. Long short— It was a bad app and we spent most of the time trying to teach a kid from Bahrain how to live in the woods and not coding… Bad idea but A LOT OF FUN + great memories.
2021
V1 @ Michigan: Started a discord server at Michigan to help ppl hacking on project meet. It ended up getting really big and formal… That seems to be what things do if they have a good brand?
The Hurd: I ran an independent research project on my dad’s farm with a very talented plant biologist from UC Berkeley to learn about Industrial Hemps impact on soil and learn about how it grows in Washington State where my family farms are. Did this on weekends for a few years. Learned a lot— will share some videos soon, they are on YouTube. And if Zach is reading this, thank you for doing all the real work on this project... Also go fuck yourself.
Myca AI: A professor at UMich pulled me in to his AI todo list project. He insisted it was more than a todo list, and honestly it probably was— but I ended up graduating and parted ways as I was back to full-time at Tesla
Tesla: After a few month hiatus, I went back to Tesla to be full-time product lead for website, retail software and other things. The most exciting part about this job was supporting the software side of product launches and coming up with the product marketing pages and experiences for Tesla cars. Also getting to see Optimus walk out on stage for the first time was a treat
2022
Charley’s Denim: Helped my little sister Charlo create her brand. Made a website, helped her with some press stuff and assisted in putting on an awesome fashion show. Charley is going to be a star.
Stemplayer: I was briefly involved in one of the coolest consumer tech products of the 2000s lead by Alex Klein and Kanye West. I used some weekend hours to jam on some digital experiences to aid the hardware exp of the Stemplayer and did some other stuff. Fun little stint. Brilliant guys.
PCs & Parts: Started a nonprofit with my girlfriend Megan to help kids in African slums learn to code and build computers. We went to Kenya to help setup the program in major slums across the country and donated 200 or so computers from Kano Technologies. Went really well. Have a lot of content that I would love to share if you are curious. Thank you Kano [FKA YZY Tech FKA Kano] for the computers
2023
Dot.: Helped my friend Jeffrey create his digital software product offering and refine the Dot. Brand. Dot. is a killer company.
2024
1X: and here we are! After visiting 1X, I left my job at Tesla— What is happening in this building will change everything. Honored to be a part of history.
